Anat is a growing Omani café brand — a homegrown concept with a distinct local character, from a warm corner in Nizwa's Harat Al Aqr to the heights of Al Jabal Al Akhdar. Running since 2023, it had grown to around four branches by the time we sat down together. The growth was real; the tools behind the counter were holding it back.

The challenge

Every branch ran on a standalone point-of-sale system, licensed per branch. Across four branches that added up fast — and for all that cost, it was only a POS. It rang up sales, but the rest of the picture was missing: no real accounting, no consolidated view of revenue and expenses, and no easy path to VAT compliance. For a chain planning to keep expanding, paying more per branch for a tool that saw only the till was the wrong direction.

What we did

We sat down with the owners and, across several demos and working sessions, showed exactly how Odoo would change both the economics and the operations:

  • One system instead of many licences — replacing per-branch POS fees with a single ERP that covers the point of sale and everything behind it, so software cost stops climbing with every new branch.
  • Real accounting for a growing chain — all revenue and expenses from every branch in one place, so Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow are one click away instead of a month-end reconstruction.
  • One-click VAT, ready to file — Odoo's tax return is localised for Oman and produces the exact format the Oman Tax Authority portal expects, turning filing into copy-and-submit rather than a manual rebuild.
  • Every branch on one POS and one ledger — each till connected to the same system, so sales flow straight into the books in real time.

We also used the rollout to put proper workflows in place — the structure a fast-growing company needs but rarely has time to build:

  • Procurement done right — purchase order to goods receipt (GRN) to the accountant reviewing and confirming the vendor bill, and finally payment by the person who owns the treasury. Clear steps, clear responsibility.
  • Cash and POS control — cashier mistakes, mis-captured orders, and cash shortages at close are now easy to see and monitor, instead of quietly slipping through.

The result

Anat has been running on Odoo for months now — every branch's POS and the accounting together in one system. Software cost is under control instead of rising with each new branch, the owners can see the whole business on real numbers, and VAT filing is a one-click export rather than a quarterly scramble. Just as importantly, a fast-growing café brand now runs on real business workflows — procurement, approvals, and cash control — that will hold up as it keeps expanding.

Paying per branch for a till that only sees half the picture? We can move your whole chain onto one system — POS, accounting, and one-click VAT — built to grow with you.
